About the Job

We are looking for a hands-on Tax Manager to manage all tax matters in Indonesia. The ideal candidate is not only capable of managing a team and driving tax strategy, but is also comfortable being directly involved in day-to-day tax operations.

You will play a key role in ensuring full tax compliance across multiple entities within Indonesia group structure, while handling complex matters such as tax audits, Transfer Pricing documentation, and corporate income tax filings (SPT Badan).

Minimum Qualifications

Education & Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Taxation, or related field
  • Brevet A & B required, Brevet C is a strong advantage

Experience

  • Minimum 6–10 years of experience in tax
  • Proven experience in:
    • Handling tax audits (pemeriksaan pajak)
    • Preparing/reviewing SPT Badan
    • Preparing/reviewing Transfer Pricing Documentation
  • Experience handling tax matters across multiple entities within a group structure (mandatory)
  • Experience managing a team is preferred, but not mandatory if strong leadership potential

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of Indonesian tax regulations (PPh, PPN, TP)
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • e-Faktur
    • e-Bupot
    • Coretax system
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Soft Skills

  • Hands-on, detail-oriented, and willing to be involved in execution
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability
  • Good communication skills (able to deal with tax authorities and stakeholders)
  • Able to work in a lean and fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background from a reputable tax firm or in-house tax in a complex organization
  • Experience handling multi-entity and intercompany transactions
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity and building processes
  • Strong accounting knowledge or prior experience in accounting roles is highly preferred (e.g. experience in financial reporting, reconciliations, or general ledger)

Responsibilities

Tax Compliance & Reporting

  • Oversee and ensure timely and accurate filing of:
    • Corporate Income Tax Return (SPT Badan) across multiple entities
    • VAT (PPN/PPNJLN), Withholding Taxes (PPh 21/23/26 etc), and other relevant taxes
  • Ensure completeness of Withholding Tax Slips (Bupot) received from customers
  • Review and prepare key tax workings and reconciliations when necessary
  • Ensure consistency and compliance across entities within the group

Tax Audit & Dispute Management

  • Lead and manage tax audits (pemeriksaan pajak) across entities
  • Prepare and/or directly handle audit responses (SP2DK, STP and other tax letters), supporting documents, and reconciliations
  • Liaise with tax authorities and manage queries professionally
  • Handle tax objections, appeals, and dispute resolution

Transfer Pricing (TP)

  • Prepare and/or review Transfer Pricing Documentation (Local File, Master File, CbCR where applicable)
  • Ensure compliance with Indonesian TP regulations and OECD guidelines
  • Support intercompany transactions and ensure alignment across group entities

Tax Advisory & Risk Management

  • Provide practical tax advice on business transactions and new initiatives
  • Identify tax risks across entities and propose mitigation strategies
  • Monitor regulatory changes and assess impact on the group

Hands-on Execution

  • Act as a “player-coach” - actively involved in execution, not just oversight
  • Personally handle complex or high-risk tax matters when needed
  • Stay close to details and ensure accuracy of key deliverables

Stakeholder Management

  • Collaborate with Finance, Accounting, and other departments across entities
  • Liaise with external tax consultants, auditors, and advisors
  • Act as main PIC for tax-related matters internally and externally

Process Improvement & Systems

  • Improve tax processes, controls, and documentation across entities
  • Support implementation and usage of tax systems (e.g. e-Faktur, e-Bupot, Coretax)
  • Drive standardization and efficiency within the group
