The Role

The Senior Regional Compliance Officer’s mission is to help Xendit expand its regional operations outside of Indonesia and the Philippines in a compliant and scalable manner. You will steer the regional compliance initiatives of Xendit to facilitate expansion to new markets, and ensure that our corporate structures locally and globally fulfills our regulators’ and investors’ requirements. The Senior Regional Compliance Officer will coordinate and liaise with ID and PH Compliance teams to ensure that Xendit’s policies and controls are practical, efficient, and workable.

Primary Responsibilities
External:

  • Lead compliance aspects for license approvals and acquisitions in new markets (SG and other new markets in SEA)
  • Interface with regulators and resolve issues raised in a timely manner
  • Consult with external experts to identify risks, best practices and expectations
  • Understand and execute on regulators’ and investors’ expectations of Xendit Group’s local and global corporate structures

Internal:

  • Provide advice and solutions to the regional business to ensure compliance of our new products, services or channels to regulations
  • Implement and enforce established Xendit Compliance and Anti-Fraud programs, principles, standards, policy, and oversight expectations within assigned territory
  • Provide adequate staff training on regulatory requirements on a periodic basis
  • Keep abreast of latest changes in regulatory requirements, and ensure governance programs and compliance policies are maintained and relevant
  • Communicate and ensure the achievement of regional compliance policy goals across Xendit Group
  • Solicit and analyze industry information to gain additional intelligence regarding emerging risks
  • Identify potential areas of vulnerability, act independently of Management and recommend best practices
  • Facilitate policy, risk and control discussions with Stakeholders
  • Perform other duties as assigned

You would be great if you have

  • Any combination of relevant education and experience and/or related professional designations/certifications in this field is highly desirable
  • You have at least 7 years’ experience working in Compliance within the Singapore financial services industry, especially in the payments, remittance, or fintech space
  • At least 3 - 4 years’ experience in a compliance role with AML/CFT exposure (i.e. customer due diligence, transaction monitoring, suspicious transaction reporting, risk-based assessments) in the banking or payment services business industry
  • You have proven experience managing regional Compliance covering Southeast Asia.
    Existing relationships and/or experience working with the Monetary Authority of Singapore and other SEA fintech regulators are a plus
  • Tertiary qualification in Business / Law / Finance or equivalent
  • Well-versed with AML/CFT regulations and PSN01 in Singapore
  • Obtained or undertaking AML/CFT certifications (i.e. ACAMS / AICB or any other equivalent) will be an added advantage
  • Qualifications in governance, risk and compliance, such as CAMS or CAMCO
  • Competent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Proficiency in MS Word
