The Role
We are seeking a Technical Recruiter to lead full-cycle recruiting for critical engineering and technical roles across the company. This role is central to our ability to build a world-class team—you will partner directly with hiring managers, shape hiring strategies, and identify exceptional talent in highly competitive and specialized markets. You will be expected to operate with urgency, ownership, and a high bar for talent—helping us scale quickly without compromising quality.
Key Responsibilities
You will partner closely with recruiters and hiring teams to:
- Own full-cycle recruiting for technical roles (engineering, manufacturing, and other specialized functions)
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies to identify and engage top-tier technical talent
- Proactively source candidates through LinkedIn, referrals, networks, and creative outbound strategies
- Conduct initial candidate screens and assess technical alignment, motivation, and culture fit
- Partner with hiring managers to define role requirements, interview plans, and hiring criteria
- Drive an efficient and high-quality interview process from initial outreach through offer close
- Deliver an exceptional candidate experience that reflects Valar’s high standards
- Track and manage candidates, pipelines, and metrics in Greenhouse ATS
- Negotiate and close candidates in competitive markets
- Continuously improve recruiting processes, tools, and strategies
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in technical recruiting (in-house or agency)
- Proven track record of hiring for engineering or other highly technical roles
- Experience sourcing passive candidates in competitive talent markets
- Strong ability to assess candidate quality and alignment beyond resumes
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage multiple searches and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- High level of ownership, accountability, and attention to detail
- U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident (Green Card holder)
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree
- Experience recruiting in aerospace, defense, energy, robotics, or hardware-focused companies
- Familiarity with roles such as mechanical, electrical, nuclear, manufacturing, or systems engineering
- Experience working in a high-growth or startup environment
- Experience using Greenhouse or a similar ATS
- Data-driven approach to recruiting, including pipeline tracking and reporting
- Experience improving or streamlining recruiting or operational processes

Location
This is a fully onsite role based at our Hawthorne, CA headquarters.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary: $110,000 – $150,000 (depending on experience)
