You'll spend most of your time in direct contact with clients in the electric and communications industries — face-to-face, by phone, and by email — generating leads, quoting training programs, and winning new business. You'll partner closely with the Director of Advanced Industry Training to execute our growth strategy and consistently hit sales targets.
What you'll do:
🔹 Prospect and generate new business through cold calling, email outreach, referrals, and networking
🔹 Travel to meet clients face-to-face and present SLTC AIT's training programs
🔹 Own the full sales cycle — from first contact to quoting, negotiation, and close
🔹 Build long-term client relationships that drive repeat business and referrals
🔹 Represent SLTC AIT at industry tradeshows, conferences, and recruiting events
🔹 Track pipeline activity and report on wins, losses, and market trends
🔹 Coordinate with training operations for smooth client handoffs
What you bring:
✅ 3-5+ years of outside sales or business development experience (electrical, utility, or communications industry experience strongly preferred)
✅ A proven track record of hitting or exceeding sales quotas
✅ A "hunter" mentality — self-motivated, resilient, and driven to close
✅ Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
✅ Comfort with frequent travel, including overnight
✅ Experience with CRM/pipeline management tools
✅ Vocational/technical certification or bachelor's degree preferred
If you're energized by the chase — from the first cold call to the signed contract — and want to grow a training business in a critical industry, we want to talk to you.
Apply today and help power the future of the electric and communications workforce.
