About Passage Health

Passage Health is a fast-growing start-up, on a mission to improve the quality and accessibility of autism care through dynamic software solutions. The diagnosis rate for autism has skyrocketed in the last 10 years to 1 in 36 children. Those children will have to wait up to 1 year to receive therapy as service providers, hampered by antiquated technology, are struggling to meet surging demand. We are building a modern electronic medical record (EMR) that will revolutionize the $460B autism care market.

What you will be doing

As our second product designer, you’ll play a key role in shaping the user experience and interface of our platform. You’ll collaborate with product managers, engineers, and subject matter experts to design intuitive, scalable solutions for clinicians, administrators, and therapy staff. You’ll own projects from discovery to delivery—turning research insights into user-friendly, accessible, and efficient workflows that support the day-to-day operations of ABA therapy providers.

What You’ll Do

  • Design end-to-end experiences across our platform, from intake and scheduling to session data collection, reporting, and billing tools.

  • Collaborate closely with product managers and engineers to understand requirements, define problems, and propose user-centered solutions.

  • Translate complex workflows (e.g., treatment plan setup, progress tracking, payer authorization) into simple, usable interfaces.

  • Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI designs that clearly communicate design intent and interactivity.

  • Participate in and lead user research activities—conducting interviews, usability testing, and incorporating feedback into iterative design improvements.

  • Contribute to and utilize our design system and UX patterns, ensuring consistency and scalability across features.

  • Balance user needs with business goals, using data and feedback to prioritize improvements that enhance usability and adoption.

What You’ll Bring

  • 4+ years of experience designing for complex SaaS or enterprise applications (experience in healthcare or ABA-related software is a plus).
  • A strong portfolio showcasing user-centered design processes, from research and ideation to polished visual design.
  • Proficiency in modern design tools (e.g., Figma, FigJam, or similar).
  • Experience conducting or partnering on user research and usability testing.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills—you can explain design decisions clearly and work well with cross-functional teams
  • A balance of systems thinking (designing for scalability) and craftsmanship (attention to detail in UI and interaction design).
  • Bias toward action and ownership — able to drive your own workstreams, make decisions, and execute with little direction.

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience with healthcare, behavioral health, or practice management platforms.
  • Familiarity with data visualization, performance constraints or form-heavy design patterns.
  • Understanding of HIPAA-compliant design practices.
  • Passionate about how design can improve clinical workflows and outcomes for the autism community.

Why Join Us

  • Opportunity to make a tremendous impact on an early-stage start up and team
  • Chance to use your skills to help children with autism
  • Preference for working in a fast-paced environment that offers new challenges and opportunities for growth
  • Competitive salary and equity compensation
  • Healthcare, dental, and vision benefits
