We are seeking a skilled Energy & Utilities professionals to work as a project consultant in our AI Labor Marketplace. This is not a full-time employment position — you will be engaged as an expert project consultant on a contract basis.
Location: U.S.-based experts only
Engagement: Part-time, project-based expert evaluation work
Work Type: Remote
Project Summary: Support the development of AI safety systems by generating and evaluating realistic industry-specific scenarios related to Sexual Content, Violence, Self-Harm, and Hate. Contributors will apply professional expertise to create nuanced examples, assess edge cases, and provide structured annotations that improve model performance on complex safety classifications.
Consultant Engagement Terms
This is a project-based consultant role. Consultants will be paid on a per-project basis; hourly rates are estimates based on anticipated completion time. Consultants control their own schedule, provide their own tools, and may simultaneously provide services to other vendors/employers (subject to those vendors’ allowances).
Responsibilities
Contributors will:
- Generate realistic industry-specific scenarios and examples
- Evaluate AI-generated content and model outputs
- Identify nuanced safety, risk, and policy edge cases
- Apply project annotation guidelines and structured metadata
- Document classification decisions and supporting rationale
- Review work for quality, consistency, and realism
- Contribute professional expertise to safety classifier development

Qualifications
- 10–15 years of professional experience in utility operations, industrial safety, NERC/FERC compliance, environmental compliance, or grid security
- Experience within energy, utilities, or heavy industry
- Representative titles include Plant Safety Manager, Senior NERC/FERC Compliance Specialist, Grid Security Engineer, Operations Director, or Environmental Safety Lead
- Experience making operational, compliance, safety, security, legal, clinical, technical, or policy decisions within the domain
- Strong written communication and analytical skills
- Ability to evaluate nuanced and ambiguous scenarios
