Get to Know the Team

Grab is Southeast Asia's leading super-app, and GrabInsure is where we redefine protection for the digital age. We are currently at a pivotal moment as we establish a new entity to widen our reach in life, health, and general insurance. We are looking for a pioneering Operations leader who can master our current ecosystem and then lead the design of the operational infrastructure for this new venture.

Get to Know the Role

Reporting to the Regional Head of Operations, you will initially immerse yourself in our existing regional distribution and procurement frameworks. Once mastered, you will be a key driver in conceptualizing and building the "Ops Machine" for our new entity. You are the architect who will ensure that our new business is scalable, compliant, and operationally excellent from Day 1

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

Entity Foundational Design: Lead the design and implementation of end-to-end operational workflows for the new entity, including fund flows, policy lifecycles, and reporting structures.

• Knowledge Transfer & Mastery: Rapidly learn and document existing insurance distribution and procurement processes to identify best practices for the new entity's setup.
• Operational Gatekeeping: Define the "Go-Live" readiness criteria for new products, ensuring they are serviceable, reconcilable, and supported by the necessary internal tools before launch.
• Financial & Revenue Integrity: Establish reconciliation processes between internal platforms and external partners to ensure 100% financial accuracy.
• Technical Troubleshooting & Investigation: Own the investigation of system behaviors and transaction failures. You will bridge the gap between Business andEngineering to resolve root causes.
• Process Optimization (Kaizen): Audit legacy processes to identify bottlenecks, proposing automated solutions and "Feature Requests" to Product teams to ensure thenew entity remains lean and efficient.
• Stakeholder & Partner Management: Manage relationships with insurers and internal business units to facilitate seamless corporate insurance procurement and renewals.

Qualifications

What Essential Skills You Will Need

The Foundation: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Actuarial Science, or a related field.

• Domain Expertise: Deep understanding of Insurance Products, Operations, and Malaysian Regulations.
• Design Thinking: Proven ability to design processes from scratch
• Technical & Analytical Rigor: Proficient Excel skills and preferably SQL
• Agility & Ambition: Thrive in ambiguity and are excited by the challenge of forming a new business entity
• Communication: Fluent in English, with the ability to influence stakeholders and translate technical requirements into operational reality.

The Nice-to-Haves

• Professional Qualifications: Bank Negara recognized certifications (RFP, CFP, or hFC).

• Experience: Background in insurance brokerage, financial advisory, or a "startup" phase within a corporate environment.
