Get to Know the Team

The Tech Governance team is essential for maintaining governance across Grab Tech's personnel, processes, and systems. We focus on implementing effective policies and controls while safeguarding company assets against risks. Our team values collaboration with multiple business stakeholders to enhance governance and drive continuous improvement in technology operations through innovative solutions.

Get to Know the Role

We are looking for a dynamic and strategic Tech Governance Manager to join our team. You will be reporting to the Head of Governance, and you will work with the Tech and Engineering Teams and other Governance, Risk and Compliance functions. You will lead Grab Tech's proactive governance initiatives — ensuring compliance, scalable control design, and cross-functional alignment.

You will base onsite in our Petaling Jaya office.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

• Lead the development and continuous update of our Technology Governance Framework, including policies, standards, and guidelines.
• Lead the identification and assessment of technology risks including AI-specific risks and defining controls to mitigate these risks.
• Collaborate with Tech and Engineering teams to ensure the systematic enforcement and automated implementation of controls within systems.
• Define metrics, systematically monitor and report on the effectiveness of governance controls and risk mitigation strategies to Leadership.
• Drive the integration of AI governance into existing tech governance, risk and compliance processes and tooling.
• Leverage and scale the use of AI-driven tools to automate governance operations, including automated compliance checks, controls monitoring, policy drafting, and automated evidence collection
• Be the control owner for technology controls, as the primary contact and subject matter expert for SOX audits and regulatory inspections.
• Oversee compliance with evolving industry regulations, and internal mandates, proactively adjusting strategies to mitigate exposure.
• Collaborate with multiple departments to integrate governance best practices into all technology projects and operations.
• Champion organisation-wide training and enablement programs to cultivate a strong culture of technology and risk awareness.
• Be an internal thought leader on the latest technology trends, AI ethics, and regulatory changes to future-proof our governance posture.

Qualifications

What Essential Skills You Will Need

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Accounting, Risk Management or related field.
• Minimum 9-15 years of relevant experience in IT governance, risk management, or compliance roles.
• Strong understanding of IT governance and control frameworks such as COBIT, ITIL, ISO 27001, NIST, or similar
• Proven experience managing audits, control reviews, remediation tracking, and cross-functional stakeholder engagement
• Experience in regulated industries such as financial services or fintech
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Experience working in a dynamic, fast-moving environment where autonomy and self-decision making is needed (to an extent) and able to juggle between different projects/tasks.
• Exposure to building or maturing governance operating models, control reporting, or risk dashboards.
