Job Description

Get to Know the Team

Our Tax team partners with the business to keep Grab compliant across every market we operate in, while turning regulatory complexity into clear, commercial advice. In Thailand, the team owns the full tax lifecycle for a portfolio of legal entities — covering corporate income tax, VAT, withholding tax, transfer pricing and tax accounting — and works hand-in-hand with Controllership, FP&A, Legal and the Regional Tax team in Singapore. We are looking for an Assistant Manager who is hungry to learn, technically curious, and ready to take ownership of compliance for a portfolio of entities under the guidance of the Tax Manager.

Get to Know the Role

As Assistant Tax Manager, you will be the day-to-day owner of tax compliance for an assigned portfolio of Thailand entities, with an emphasis on applying automation tools for efficiency. As the business expands, you will advise on any tax implications that arise from new business ventures and opportunities. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with 4–8 years of relevant experience who is forward-thinking and wants to broaden their scope across the full tax stack inside a high-growth technology business.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

  • Compliance Ownership: Manage the end-to-end preparation of direct and indirect tax filings, ensuring all submissions are accurate.
  • You will be the primary bridge between our company and the Thai Revenue Department and managing relationship with external tax advisors
  • You will support the Tax Manager with quarterly tax provisioning and reporting to ensure global accounting standards are met
  • You will coordinate and preparing necessary inputs for transfer pricing documentation to ensure cross-border compliance
  • You will identify opportunities to implement and use automation tools to improve manual tax workflows and increase efficiency

Qualifications

What Essential Skills You Will Need

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, Law or Economics. CPA, CPD, TA or equivalent professional qualification is a strong plus.
  • 4–8 years of relevant tax experience gained in a Big 4 firm, in-house tax function of an established multinational, or a combination of both.
  • Hands-on experience preparing tax returns and supporting tax audits with the Thai Revenue Department.
  • Comfortable extracting and reconciling data from ERP systems and working with large datasets in Excel.
  • Proficient in written and spoken English and Thai — able to draft technical responses to authorities and to communicate clearly with regional stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented, well-organized and able to manage multiple filings and deadlines without dropping the ball.
