Our team's mission is to create amazing services and tools that impact hundreds of millions of consumers, driving partners, and fellow Grabbers every day.

We're improving our food delivery and supermarket platforms, handling tens of millions of bookings daily. New code reaches hundreds of millions of users quickly. You'll help enhancing features for our consumer and delivery-partner facing app, focusing on Deliveries, but we'll always welcome your fresh ideas. You'll work on one of the largest codebases in Southeast Asia, making an impact.

Get to Know the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Intern Mobile Engineer to join our dynamic team in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This internship opportunity offers a chance to gain hands-on experience in Android app development while working alongside experienced professionals.

You will report to Software Engineering Manager II. This is a paid internship role and is based onsite in Petaling Jaya.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

• Assist in the design and development of mobile applications for Android
• Collaborate with senior developers to implement new features and improve existing functionality
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices
• Debug and troubleshoot issues in mobile applications
• Integrate RESTful APIs and third-party libraries into mobile apps
• Assist in the creation of user-friendly mobile interfaces
• Learn and apply mobile development best practices and design patterns
• Contribute to the full software development lifecycle, from concept to deployment

Qualifications

What Essential Skills You Will Need

• You will need to start the internship in August 2025 with a minimum duration of 3 months.
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• Strong foundation in programming
• Basic understanding of mobile app architecture and design patterns
• Experience with version control systems eg Git
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and their integration into mobile apps
• Portfolio of personal or academic Mobile projects will be a great addition
• Passion for mobile technology and staying updated with the latest Mobile development trends
