Get to Know the Role
Grab handles millions of sessions and searches across Southeast Asia every day. We're looking for a Lead PM who can do both: raise the bar on the current search and personalisation fundamentals, while also building the next generation of LLM powered personalisation experiences
This is a high-ownership, IC role. You'll set the direction, partner closely with ML engineers and data scientists, and ship measurable outcomes for Food Deliveries consumer experience and business
The vision for this charter and role will be to take a robust discovery experience and step-change its experience, relevance, personalisation and efficiency to deliver outstanding consumer search experience and strong business outcomes
This role requires a blend of technical depth in search/recommendation systems, connecting consumer problems to technical solutions, and the leadership skills to align cross-functional teams based in Beijing and Singapore.
Critical tasks you will perform will include,
End-to-End Ownership of Food search discovery and recommendations experience roadmap for our Food deliveries, Dining out products
Build best in class Discovery, upgrading the user discovery experience, relevance, personalisation resulting in increased conversion
Lead AI-Led personalisation Evolution with roadmap for next-generation search capabilities: LLM-assisted search and personalisation
Partner with Data Science & ML Engineering to evolve the models and signals that power search algorithms and personalization. Translate model improvements into measurable consumer and business outcomes.
Cross-Border Leadership - Drive the product strategy and execution for search acting as a bridge between our tech hubs in Beijing and Singapore, and business and product stakeholders in the region.
Qualifications
What Skills we are looking for
Experience: 7-10+ years of product management experience (or equivalent), with a proven track record of owning high-scale systems (e.g., search, recommendations, marketplaces).
Strong Product + Quant Orientation: Comfort shaping strategy using data, designing rigorous experiments, and making high-stakes trade-offs across conversion, relevance, and marketplace health.
AI Tool Fluency You use AI tools actively in your day-to-day work - to analyse, prototype, and accelerate decisions. You have intuition about where LLMs add value and where they fall short in search/ recommendation systems
Technical Communication: Capacity to convey complex concepts - such as ranking logic, relevance algorithms, or system architecture changes - to diverse technical and non-technical audiences.
Search / recommendation experience - Demonstrated ability to drive outcomes with work around any of search retrieval/ ranking/optimizatio, recommendation systems
Global Collaboration: Experience working with distributed teams across different geographies; English is our primary working language.
