GrabRentals is a core pillar of Grab's Mobility business, with the primary objective of securing vehicular and productive driver-partner supply to ensure liquidity for Grab's ride-hailing and delivery marketplace. We house business units focused on scaling and optimizing supply channels across diverse vehicle and partner segments to meet dynamic consumer demand.
Get to know the Role
We are seeking a visionary and execution-oriented Head of Platform & Autonomous Operations to architect our operational footprint from the ground up. In this high-impact leadership role, you will build the organization, processes, and culture required to scale our marketplace supply safely and efficiently.
You will recruit and lead a multi-disciplinary team across three core functions: Supply Quality & Compliance, Real-Time Marketplace Operations, and Field/Partner Support. You won't just manage existing flows; you will write the playbooks, define the decision-making frameworks, and lead the charge on new market deployments and supply initiatives.
The Critical Tasks You Will Perform
- Organizational Leadership: Design the organizational structure, SOPs, and operational playbooks for every aspect of the platform supply lifecycle (from AV partner management to vehicle supply and uptime).
- P&L & Resource Management: Own the P&L and resource planning for platform operations, encompassing headcount planning, facility management, and supply management.
- Strategic Expansion: Lead the roadmap and regulatory discussions for scaling fleet sizes and launching new ODDs.
- Executive Stakeholder Management: Navigate high-stakes interactions with C-suite executives across a network of AV ecosystem partners.
- Marketplace Liquidity & Health: Oversee the lifecycle management of marketplace supply, ensuring maximum platform availability, utilization, and vehicle operations.
- Quality & Compliance Standards: Establish strict quality control protocols, compliance schedules, and operational readiness standards for the network.
- Real-Time Network Management: Manage a 24/7 Command Centre responsible for real-time marketplace monitoring, supply-demand balancing, and logic-based dispatching.
- Trust & Safety Incident Response: Create a robust crisis response framework for on-platform and on-road incidents, ensuring rapid coordination between field teams, legal, Trust & Safety, and PR.
Qualifications
- 8-12+ years of operations leadership experience, with at least 4 years in Internet Marketplaces, Platform Economy, Ride-hailing, Logistics, or high-growth Tech Ops.
- Proven track record of building teams and operational processes from scratch (e.g., launching a new market for a platform company or setting up a new operational hub).
- Experience managing large, distributed teams (30+ people), including fast-paced, shift-based, or hyper-local operational workforces.
- Demonstrated ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure during live operational incidents or supply-demand shocks.
- Background in Trust & Safety, regulatory compliance, or platform integrity within the tech or transportation sectors.
