Get to Know the Role
The Store Operations Leader is responsible for managing the daily operations of dark stores supporting online grocery order fulfillment. This role owns operational excellence across multiple stores, ensuring high service levels, cost efficiency, inventory accuracy, and strong team performance while meeting key operational KPIs.
The Critical Tasks You Will Perform
- Lead end to end daily operations of dark stores, including picking, packing, dispatch, and last-mile handover
- Ensure compliance with operational SOPs, food safety, hygiene, and regulatory standards
- Maintain consistent execution of processes to meet customer delivery SLAs
- Manage workforce planning, shift scheduling, and productivity optimization
- Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement
- Ensure accurate inventory management, stock rotation (FIFO/FEFO), and cycle counts
- Coordinate with supply chain, procurement, and category teams to ensure optimal stock availability
- Minimize inventory loss, waste, and expiry
- Support new dark store launches, process rollouts, and operational pilots
Qualifications
What Essential Skills You Will Need
- Strong operational execution and problem-solving skills
- Analyze performance data, identify gaps, conduct root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions
- Data-driven mindset with the ability to interpret dashboards and KPIs
- High ownership, resilience, and attention to detail
- Bachelor's degree in any major
- 5+ years of experience in conventional retail supermarket and/or mini-market operations (preferred)
