The Growth Insights and Planning (GIP) team is a young, enthusiastic, and passionate team with an intellectual hunger to bring value to both business and society. We work closely with stakeholders across Grab Vietnam and Regional to drive business growth through data-driven insights and strategic initiatives. Our scope encompasses demand planning, growth optimization, vertical strategy development, and acting as the Project Management for key country strategic projects. The team is responsible for generating actionable insights, proposing strategic projects, and leading cross-functional initiatives to grow Grab's business across Mobility, Deliveries (GrabFood, GrabMart, GrabExpress) and Financial Services in Vietnam.
Get to Know the Role
As the Manager, Growth & Insights Planning, you will own P&L planning and promotional budget optimization for GrabMart, shape the mid to long‑term growth strategy, and lead cross‑functional execution in partnership with Commercial, Marketing, Country Ops and Product.
You will report to the Head, Growth & Insights Planning (ACE) and work primarily with country leaders and regional Product on GTM and scaling initiatives. You will work onsite at the Grab office, Mapletree Business Centre, HCMC.
The Critical Tasks You Will Perform
- Own end‑to‑end P&L planning for GrabMart, including GMV, Revenue, and Promo budget management; drive disciplined investment allocation to hit targets.
- Design, forecast, and optimize promotional and demand‑gen levers; measure ROI, incrementality, and elasticity to increase efficiency of spend.
- Use deep data‑driven insights to analyze users behaviors, market trends, competitor activities, and internal performance to build and execute the mid and long‑term growth strategy, identifying growth levers (selection, pricing, promos, fulfilment, visibility…).
- Partner with Product on roadmap inputs and GTM: define problem statements and success metrics, size opportunities, shape experiment design, and plan rollouts; coordinate with country teams to mitigate execution risks.
- Raise the analytics bar: standardize dashboards, forecasting models, and performance metrics measurement frameworks; improve data quality and decision speed.
- Lead a small, high‑performing team; set goals, coach for excellence in analysis and execution, and establish operating cadences (weekly business reviews, pipeline tracking, post‑mortems).
Qualifications
What Essential Skills You Will Need
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in strategy, growth/marketing, or operations planning within high‑growth consumer tech, e‑commerce, retail, or quick‑commerce.
- Analytical & Modeling: Proven ability to build financial and operational models for investment decisions and scenario planning as well as deep data‑driven insights.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in English and Vietnamese, with the ability to articulate complex ideas to senior leadership.
- Problem-Solving: Skilled in breaking down complex problems into actionable, data-backed solutions.
- Experimentation mindset: experience designing A/B tests and guardrails, running pilots for new products/business models, and translating results into rollout playbooks.
- Project Management: Strong project management and execution skills, including navigating ambiguity and driving initiatives to completion.
- Leadership: Experience in people management and fostering a strong growth culture.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in SQL and advanced analytics tools.
- AI tools: You have experience engaging with AI tools and emerging technologies to enhance productivity, improve workflows, and contribute new ideas.
