Come join Grab Fulfilment team, we're dedicated to building the most trusted and loved platform for all things food in Southeast Asia. When you're an engineer at Grab, you are part of the heart and soul of the company.

Get to Know the Role

You will lead the design, development, and maintenance of our mission-critical backend systems, driving technological advancements and setting the standard for engineering excellence.

You will be based in Malaysia and report to the Senior Software Engineering Manager.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

• You will design and write with the latest GO language to improve the availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of Grab's range of services
• You will work with infrastructure team in building and scaling back-end services and performing root cause analysis investigations
• You will work with mobile team to build reusable modularized mobile components utilising scalable APIs
• You will work with different engineering teams to explore and create new design/architectures geared towards scale and performance
• You will participate in code and design reviews to maintain our high development standards

Qualifications

What Essential Skills You Will Need

• We're looking at least 1 year working experience on backend development
• You will have familiarity with running large-scale distributed web or api services; understanding of systems internals and networking and hands-on database and at least one data query languages like mysql or Presto
• You will have experience on cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, Azure and understanding of testing frameworks for unit testing, integration testing and E2E testing
• You have hands-on familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for system development and deployment
• You understand building microservices architecture and a good grasp of distributed systems, RESTful APIs, and message queuing systems. Your knowledge in these areas will develop our back-end services.
• You can be a good coder in any language, but willing to work on Golang
