Job Description
Get to Know the Team
GrabInsure is the insurtech arm of Grab operating as an insurance company and insurtech. The unit's mission is to enable affordable insurance solutions for the underserved communities of South-East Asia.
Get to Know the Role
This is a 6 months full-time onsite role based in Singapore as part of the GRIT Programme.
This role will support the various activities involved in the running of an insurtech. The trainee will gain some experience in key functions including business development, financial reporting, risk management, and others.
The Critical Tasks You Will Perform
The trainee may be involved in the following areas:
- Assisting in financial and regulatory reporting, including reserving
- Assisting in the day to day risk management activities of the Company
- Assisting in product development, launches, or iterations
- Assisting in project management or co-ordination of activities for
The Company may choose to rotate its interns through various functions or focus the internship on one area, depending on the needs of the Company at the time and the suitability of the intern.
Technical Skills and Competencies Trainee will learn during the traineeship:
- Actuarial reserving
- IFRS 17 financial reporting
- Financial reporting processes
- MAS regulatory reporting
- Risk management practices
Qualifications
What Essential Skills You Will Need
- Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science or a related quantitative field from an accredited institution; new graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Strong track record of achieving exemptions or completing exams towards an actuarial fellowship.
- Strong graduates from quantitative degrees (e.g. pure mathematics, theoretical physics) with a track record of completing actuarial exams will also be considered.
