The ADS Technology team is responsible for the advertising business at Grab, including precision delivery and marketing. As one of the most potential departments in Grab, we provide advertising solutions using advanced technologies.We adopt a microservice architecture for backend development and utilize a variety of front-end technologies, such as iOS, Android, Flutter, and Web, to serve our end-users. These users include consumers, drivers, merchants, and business partners.Our business spans across seven countries. We aim to help businesses reach their target audiences effectively and improve conversion rates through precise advertising delivery and impactful marketing strategies. We proactively generalise our microservices into platforms to improve the speed to market of new products. We follow an adaptive system principle, in which systems keep improving upon different feedback signals without human intervention.

Get to know the role

We are looking for a Software Engineer to help our team in developing scalable solutions for our ads business. We believe a successful candidate has strong experience in go and cloud services, as well as an ability to work cohesively within a team, but if you believe you have what it takes then we’d love to hear from you either way. This role is required because we're expanding our team and need experienced technical engineer to ensure its success. In return, you will get an opportunity to work on innovative projects and influence the team’s technological direction, while advancing your leadership and technical skills.

The Critical Tasks You will Perform

• You will design and write with the cutting edge GO language to improve the availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of Grab's range of services.
• You will be involved in code and design reviews to maintain Grab's development standards.
• You will engage in service capacity and demand planning, software performance analysis, tuning and optimization
• You will participate in code and design reviews to maintain our high development standard
• You will partner with other engineering teams to explore and create new designs/architectures geared towards scale and performance.
• You will have opportunities to collaborate with product and experience teams to define and prototype feature specifications.
• You will work closely with the infrastructure team in building and scaling back-end services and performing root cause analysis investigations.
• You will responsible for designing, building, analyzing and fixing large-scale systems.
• You will debug and modify complex production software

Qualifications

What Essential Skills You will Need

• We're looking for someone who has spent at least minimum of 2 years' experience in software engineering within a distributed systems environment.
• You have the continuous desire to learn new things and embrace the latest technologies.
• You are well-versed in Computer Science fundamentals in algorithms and data structures.You have a sound understanding of system performance and scaling.
• You should have solid software engineering and coding skills, with proficiency in any programming language and a willingness to work with GoLang.
• You are familiar in system performance and scaling.
