Get to know our Team

Join the PayCore Central Recon Platform team at Grab - a dynamic and team building a reliable platform to address challenging problems in the Payments domain. We are a team of engineers, designers, and product managers who and collaborate to solve one of the most challenging problems - ensuring accurate reconciliation with many financial partners.

Be a reliable backbone in Grab’s Payments ecosystem to guide economic empowerment across south-east Asia for all our customers and merchant partners. We’re not just another ride-hailing or food delivery platform. As part of Grab, the leading super app, we’re also providing financial enablement to our users.

Get to know the Role

You will report directly to Engineering Manager, who is based in Singapore. This role is based in Vietnam and hybrid. Your main responsibility is to develop efficient, reliable and scalable, and maintainable data pipelines and data warehouse systems.

The Critical Tasks You will Perform

• Participate in all aspects of developing a data warehouse system
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code to solve challenging problems in the FinTech domain, such as Scripts, ETL jobs, data models, etc
• Collaborate with teams to design, and ship new features
• Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and share knowledge
• Troubleshoot and debug complex issues, providing resolutions
• Participate in On-Call rotations to ensure the reliability and availability of our systems and achieve operational excellence
• Provide support to the SRE or DevOps team to ensure smooth deployment and operation of our systems
• Develop and uphold best practices for change management, documentation and data protocols
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies

Qualifications

What Essential Skills You will Need

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• Strong English communication skills
• Strong Computer Science fundamentals in algorithms and data structures, and capability to recognize when to use them
• 2+ years of relevant experience in software development, with proficiency in one of the major programming languages, e.g., Java/Scala, Python and Golang, as well as and SQL
• Proven experience with building data intensive applications or systems
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
• Strong understanding of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum)
• 1+ years of relevant experience building and maintaining scalable systems, e.g., OLTP or OLAP systems or complex data pipelines
• Additional hands-on experience in at least one of the following areas is preferred:
  • Backend development
  • Cloud Infrastructure (e.g., Terraform)
  • DevOps
• Proficiency in SQL, Apache Spark, Apache Flink, Apache Kafka and modern data Warehouses
