Get to know the role

The Deliveries Assistant Manager is a critical role within the Grab ecosystem of Luzon. This position is at the heart of our Deliveries Operations, ensuring that our delivery services especially in the context of merchants are running smoothly and efficiently.

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Deliveries Assistant Manager preferably based in any of the Greater Metro Manila (GMM) areas to oversee and lead our team (predominantly extended workforce) responsible for acquiring merchants on-site, maintaining and building strong relationships, and managing any escalations that arise. This role requires a proactive leader who can drive merchant and corresponding business growth, ensure high levels of satisfaction, and manage operational excellence.

The day-to-day activities

  • Lead and oversee the team responsible for on-site merchant acquisition across Greater Metro Manila, ensuring that targets are met and the merchant base continues to grow.
  • Develop, maintain, and strengthen relationships with existing and new merchants, ensuring their needs are met and that they are fully engaged with our platform.
  • Stay updated on market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to inform/calibrate merchant strategies and tactics.
  • Actively contribute to the development of strategies for merchant acquisition and retention and other related monetization (e.g. ads, promos), ensuring alignment with overall business goals.
  • Oversee the onboarding process for new merchants, ensuring they are effectively handled into our platform and fully understand how to use our tools and services.
  • Manage and mentor a team of merchant acquisition executives, providing guidance, support, and training to drive performance and meet company objectives.
  • Regularly track and report on team performance, ensuring that OKRs are met and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Ensure that all merchant-related operations are conducted efficiently and in line with company policies and standards.
  • Work closely with other functions such as marketing, finance, and central merchant operations to ensure a seamless merchant experience and address any issues that may arise.
  • Handle and resolve any escalations from merchants, working closely with internal teams to provide timely and effective solutions.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in sales business development, account management or operations
  • Experienced in handling and dealing with partners (Account Management experience is preferred)
  • An exceptional track record of driving revenue through partnerships
  • Ability to understand, synthesize, and communicate results/data to partner merchants.
  • Multi-tasking and able to work under pressure and constantly changing environment
  • Great communication and negotiation skills. Proficiency in English and the local dialect is a plus
  • Passion for the on-demand delivery space, and food delivery in particular
  • Ability to build rapport and collaborate with others within the company and externally.
  • Able to understand consumer behaviors and industry trends.
