Get to know the role

As a UX Writer Intern, you’ll learn all about how content goes from idea to implementation in a product design context. Here are some highlights to expect from your experience.

  • Learn what UX writing is, and how to do it well

  • Understand how the content we write gets localised into seven languages, and speak to our Localisation Specialists to understand language nuances and needs in different markets

  • Gain the opportunity to be immersed in a variety of projects across different workstreams, and in doing so, understand the unique challenges faced by various tech families

  • Be actively involved in reviewing and writing content that will eventually be seen by millions of users

Our team of experienced UX Writers will also serve as a rich source of knowledge and support throughout your journey with us. You’ll also have plenty of chances to interact with many different stakeholders within the organisation, and emerge with a more holistic view of the business.

The Day-to-Day Activities

  • Learn the principles and fundamentals of what good UX writing means

  • Shadow your mentor: attend meetings and reviews with various project stakeholders, participate in ideation sessions and discussions

  • Review and write content for new and ongoing projects as discussed with your mentor

  • Provide additional support to other content designers if necessary

  • Actively participate in content team meetings and initiatives

  • Learn what the content creation and localisation workflow is like

  • Be immersed in the end-to-end content creation process; identify and document areas of improvement and suggestions for a more efficient/effective workflow

  • Gain exposure to various work streams and tech families, understand the unique needs, priorities and challenges faced

  • Learn how to collaborate with and manage business stakeholders and leaders in delivering a best-in-class product

  • Take part in research, focus group and user testing sessions, and develop an appreciation for how user feedback impacts the work that we do

  • Learn how to apply research and data findings to improve our content

Qualifications

The Must-Haves

  • Undergraduate in the arts, humanities, social sciences, design, communications, marketing, or other relevant courses

  • A keen interest in how language shapes the world and our experiences

  • Proficient in Google suite (Docs, Slides)

  • Knowledge of design tools such as Figma or prototyping tools like Maze are a plus
