Job Description

Get to know our Team

The Mobility strategy team works closely with senior business and product leaders to define where to play and how to win for the mobility business. We use hypotheses-led problem solving to solve the biggest challenges and chart the growth path in mobility

Get to know the Role

A manager in the Mobility Strategy team is expected to navigate highly ambiguous problem statements (with minimal guidance) to grow the Mobility business in Grab regionally. The manager works with Senior Leaders to set strategic direction for problem-space teams that cut across business and tech. To do this, the manager will have to:

  • Grasp new and complex concepts quickly; whilst triangulating multiple views/data points to form opinions/recommendations to solve high priority problem statements
  • Assess trade offs in business decisions by evaluating effort vs ROI to help steer the team towards the right course of action; even if it means having to pivot from initial plans
  • Anticipate risks/weaknesses in plans and develop solutions ahead of others

The Day-to-Day Activities

  • Lead problem-solving clarity in teams involving product, design, analytics and engineering
  • Lead end-to-end special projects for high impact initiatives from ideation to execution
  • Build deep understanding of new areas for growth and the competitive landscape to identify future growth engines
  • Communicate in a clear and concise manner to stakeholders and leaders across different teams to drive alignment


The Must-Haves

  • 5+ years in a product, strategy or analytical role in a fast-moving environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills: Able to take complex problems and break them down into actionable pieces
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills: Able to clearly articulate line of thinking and hold respectful debates with Senior Leaders
  • Strong business acumen and customer focused: Able to combine datapoints across quantitative, qualitative and industry/market knowledge to propose sound decisions
  • Comfortable with ambiguity
  • Innately curious and driven
