Your team: The Content Moderation Team

At Grab, we believe that AI and machine learning will play a vital role in keeping our users safe. Our content moderation team uses ChatGPT and in-house ML models to evaluate and label user-generated content. This helps us to identify and remove harmful content, while also ensuring that high-quality content is promoted.

As a backend engineer on our team, you will be responsible for building the infrastructure around in-house and remote ML models, as well as the upstream systems that support them. There are opportunities to learn how to train ML models or how to scale a distributed system.

This is a great opportunity for people hungry to work on high traffic LLM systems.

The role:

As a BE engineer, you will be responsible for developing and integrating our machine learning models, as well as the infrastructure that supports the models for text, image, and video content for all of Grab's product families. You will also work closely with our business, product and content moderators to ensure that our models are effective in labeling content and Grab stays compliant with local and global regulations.

Day-to-day activities include:

• Design backend ML services with a focus on low latency, cost reduction, and scalability in Golang and Python.
• Design large-scale data systems, leveraging data modeling and machine learning algorithms to continuously optimize our content evaluation strategies.
• Collaborating with teams across Grab to ingest and evaluated user generated content
• Engaging in service capacity and demand planning, software performance analysis, tuning, and optimization.

Qualifications

What we're looking for:

• Experience with ML infrastructure or high traffic and high latency systems
• Proficient in at least one of the following languages: Python, Go, C++, Java, etc.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, and strong willingness to communicate and coordinate with others from different culture and language backgrounds.
• Self-motivated, fast learner, and great team player.

The plus points:

• Overseas study or work experience.

• Expertise in open source tech stack such as Database, Redis, Kafka, Spark, etc.
• Expertise in public cloud (e.g. AWS, Azure) and familiarity with cloud native architecture.
