The Fulfillment tech family is one of the pillars enabling Grab to out-serve our customers and partners in different businesses and marketplaces across Southeast Asia. We are working on high throughput, real-time distributed systems that use sophisticated machine learning techniques to solve hundreds of millions of requests per day. We are a distributed team in 4 different locations: Singapore, Beijing, Indonesia, and Malaysia. Our communication is in English, both in spoken and written form.

Improve driver partner opportunities and efficiency in order to fulfill customer orders without fail, rain or shine. And to create efficient marketplaces by determining an optimal price that is both sustainable and loved by our partners and customers.
About the Team:
The Fulfilment Driver App Core team is responsible for empowering our driver app mobile engineers with a world class developer experience to ship great and innovative products to our driver- and delivery-partners that makes their earn-time more efficient. We are the team that is responsible for maintaining the core foundations of the driver app, keeping it updated with the industry best practices, constantly improving the stability and performance tooling of our app and making sure that we can get new updates to the hands of our drivers on a weekly basis.
Get to know the Role
The Day-to-Day Activities
You will lead a team of talented engineers to build and support the products and services, as well as necessary frameworks, libraries and primitives to scale & connect our offerings together.
Collaborate with the product, business, design and other engineering teams to be on top of your team’s deliverables & milestones.
Working in a regional organization with offices across different countries and cultures and facilitating collaborating across these different teams.
Within your engineering team, drive the following:
Timely delivery of highly reliable and scalable engineering architecture, and high quality, maintainable and operationally excellent code.
Track & monitor team & individual performance, building continuous improvement into the process.
Participate in design discussions and code reviews. Helping to identify and resolve performance and scalability issues
Be part of on-call for the services we own, and participate in post-mortems for any incidents
Recruit, interview and close top talents.
Actively mentor and coach engineers in the team while ensuring continuous growth and development opportunities exist for them in the team.
Technical must haves:
7+ years of relevant, broad engineering experience, including 2+ years of people management experience leading mobile engineering teams.
5+ years of hands-on experience building, maintaining and releasing a large scale mobile application in either Android(preferred) or iOS.
Strong computer science fundamentals including data structures, algorithms and multithreading, relational and non-relational databases
Demonstrates a solid understanding of cloud infrastructure with hands-on experience being a plus.
Soft skills must haves:
Communicates competently in English
Proven team manager with a servant leader mindset, strong interpersonal skills, and ability to get things done collaboratively.
Ability to clearly communicate high level strategy and technical details effectively across disciplines, locations, and organizations, including to senior managers.
Experienced in how to manage, support and grow a team of talented software engineers.
Experience working in a central platform and driving alignment organizational alignment on key technical goals
Hands-on experience with building and maintaining C/C++ libraries as part of an Android application
Hands-on experience with building and maintaining Flutter mobile applications
Hands-on experience with building and maintaining Flutter/Kotlin/Swift hybrid mobile applications.
Hands-on experience with backend application development.
