Get to know the Role

As a Junior Backend Engineer, you'll be at the heart of our day-to-day protection systems, and contribute to the evolution of our platform. This is an opportunity to be part of a world-class team, build services from scratch, and delve into core system performance challenges.

The Day-to-Day Activities

• Design, develop, and deploy backend services with a focus on high availability, low latency, and scalability in Golang.

• Work on large-scale data systems, leveraging data modeling and machine learning algorithms to continuously optimize our fraud detection strategies and enhance platform security

• Collaborating with teams across Grab to define and prototype feature specifications.

• Participating in code and design reviews to maintain our high development standards.

• Engaging in service capacity and demand planning, software performance analysis, tuning, and optimization.

The Must-Haves

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, and strong willingness to communicate and coordinate with others from different culture and language backgrounds.

• Bachelor in Computer Science or equivalent.

• Proficient in at least one of the following languages: Go, C++, Java, Python, etc.

• Self-motivated, fast learner, and great team player.

The Nice-to-Haves

• Overseas study or work experience.

• Expertise in open source tech stack such as Database, Redis, NoSQL, Kafka, ElasticSearch, Spark, etc.

• Expertise in public cloud (e.g. AWS, Azure) and familiarity with cloud native architecture.
