The Transport & Operations team is a crucial team at Grab Myanmar: it is responsible for the growth of the Transport business, and for the growth and efficient utilization of our supply. We make an impact by enabling more earning opportunities for tens of thousands of driver- and delivery-partners in Myanmar. The Transport & Operations team is made up of over 30 Grabbers. Get to know the Role

This role reports to the Myanmar Country Head and is responsible for all Transport business and platform operations matters for all cities in Myanmar. Functions under your supervision will include strategy & special projects, platform quality and safety, the Grab Driver Center, partner acquisition, training and engagement, and partner payments. The role entails three key components:

  • Business management: you will be the nationwide P&L owner of the Transport business line and will be responsible for its growth. As such, you will be expected to:

    • Develop a strategy to grow the Transport business and craft plans to meet business objectives

    • Guide the market research teams to conduct relevant research and provide the insights needed as inputs for the development of the business strategy and plans

    • Allocate financial resources as needed to meet given topline and bottomline financial targets

    • Actively monitor changes in the market, identify risks and opportunities, and revise and adapt plans accordingly, in a timely manner

    • Ensure smooth execution of the plans by drawing support from and coordinating all relevant local, regional, internal and external stakeholders

    • Utilize all available resources (product features, driver and consumer incentives, marketing, human resources, etc.) to their best effect

    • Inform and guide product design, and draw support for the development and rollout of product solutions

  • Operations management: you will be responsible for the consistent quality, safety and reliability of Grab’s Transport and Deliveries services. As such, you will be expected to:

    • Determine and forecast the optimal level of supply needed to sustain demand growth, while balancing reliability for consumers and satisfactory earnings for driver- and delivery-partners

    • Develop strategies and craft plans leveraging all available resources (product features, driver incentives, marketing, human resources, etc.) to secure the appropriate level of supply and to deliver the highest quality and safety standards, through the acquisition, training, engagement and retention of driver- and delivery-partners

    • Guide the design and execution of research to understand the needs, challenges and concerns of partners

    • Maintain constant feedback loops to continuously update the strategies and plans according to the ground situation

    • Continuously improve operations in all the functions under your supervision by reviewing, optimizing and enforcing SOPs for scale and quality, and designing and introducing automation and product solutions (with support from the automation and product departments)

  • People management: you will lead a large, multi-tiered department responsible for a broad range of matters. As such, you will be expected to:

    • Motivate team members by creating a challenging yet cheerful and rewarding work environment

    • Identify, develop and empower talent via coaching and mentoring

    • Optimize the team structure periodically to align with business priorities and enable talent growth

    • Inject kaizen mindset and maintain high work quality standards

The Day-to-Day Activities

  • You lead a team of senior leaders in Grab Myanmar to ensure key strategic projects are on track

  • You monitor and drive the growth of the business, as well as healthy supply reliability and availability each day

  • Should unexpected events occur, you develop contingency plans and adjust your strategy to ensure the team can execute well to maintain satisfy user experience and to meet financial targets

  • You are responsible for the overall performance of the Transport business, the overall marketplace health of Transport and Deliveries businesses, and the smooth execution of on-ground operations

  • You work closely with the Country Head, Head of Expansion Region, and other Department Heads

  • You make an impact by improving the daily earnings of tens of thousands of driver- and delivery-partners in Myanmar, and by providing safe rides to millions of consumers in Myanmar
