The Communications team is responsible for telling the Grab story around the world. Whether it's speaking to media and online influencers, industry commentators, thought leaders or the wider community, the Communications team is the voice of Grab.
Get to know the role:
As the Communications Manager for Singapore, you are passionate about telling impactful stories about Grab’s business, services and the stakeholders we serve (consumers, driver and delivery-partners, merchant-partners) across a variety of channels: media, social influencers, Grab’s blog, and other owned channels. You are proactive in finding these stories, creative in bringing them to life, have strong media pitching skills, and are unafraid to experiment with new content angles and formats to achieve the best outcomes.
As the guardian of our corporate reputation, you will collaborate closely with different teams to come up with thoughtful and clear narratives, and partner them in developing and executing our communications programme. The successful candidate must demonstrate strong understanding of the media landscape in Singapore, possess excellent writing skills, and ability to think critically and anticipate issues that may arise. Experience with managing crises and issues is advantageous.
Day-to-day responsibilities
Develop, implement and manage communications programmes that are in line with Grab’s business objectives, and positions Grab as a thoughtful company
Creatively tell stories that are positive for Grab across different channels
Build and maintain strong working relationships with key media and influencers in Singapore
Drive content development, including media materials and other formats of content, to support campaigns and education of stakeholders
Organise and oversee media engagements, speaking opportunities, media training and press office
Manage the response to incidents, issues or crisis situations, and pre-empt and mitigate potential issues
Build strong working relationships with Grab business stakeholders, provide communications counsel, and drive regular planning and reporting meetings with them
Track KPIs and optimise communications initiatives as necessary
Skill-sets we need you to have:
Minimum 7 years of experience in PR, media relations, crisis/issues management, social media, integrated communications
A creative and collaborative self-starter who can work independently, and be comfortable in a high-growth, fast-paced and dynamic environment
Experience in an PR agency preferred, with strong interest in the tech sector
Excellent command of English (written and spoken)
Hands-on and motivated by challenging work.
