The Philippine Operations team oversees, shapes, and grows the business in Grab PH. We contribute towards Grab’s vision of being Southeast Asia’s super app by providing everyday services that matter most to consumers in the Philippines. As part of the Philippines Operations team, this role is within the Strategy & Partnership functional team. The Strategy team is responsible for the overall Philippines Country Strategy and works on the top list, high impact projects spanning across all the business lines in the Philippines (e.g. GrabPay, GrabFood, GrabCar, GrabMart).

Get to know the role

You get to lead and support studies for high-impact strategic topics and coordinate cross-functional strategic initiatives and projects, delivering tangible impact to Grab’s business. You work with other Grab strategy teams (both local & regional) and will directly facilitate strategic partnership discussions with external partners and senior executives. You will have a portfolio and may lead or deliver high-impact initiatives. 

The Day-to-Day Activities

• You are responsible for conducting market research, business analysis, tracking and compiling industry trends for high-impact strategic topics

• You are accountable for the support planning & analysis of overall PH and high-impact strategic initiatives: e.g. providing a fact base, structuring and helping with issue identification and solutions, advising on the practicalities of implementation

• You will support the Head of Strategy (PH) in being a sounding board for the strategic decisions of senior management staff including the Country Head and Vertical Heads

• You will lead strategic discussions with external partners

• You provide timely updates to senior management (e.g. strategic analysis, project updates, EXCO/Board decks)

The Must-Haves

• You have a strong academic track record and have at least 2 - 4 years’ experience in strategy at a top-tier management consultancy firm, growth or product management in tech, or operations in entrepreneurial ventures.

• Strategic Thinking and Communication

  • You are intellectually curious, highly analytical, and able to problem-solve, think & debate strategically. You can adapt from a big-picture thinker to one who is also detail-oriented and can navigate through different situations/topics/industries.

  • You have experience in a quantitative discipline with a strong business sense and the ability to articulate complex analyses results to a wide range of audiences, including senior leadership

  • Your fluency and knowledge of the cultural nuances in Asian Markets will be an advantage

• Excellence in Operations

  • You have a strong desire to implement projects from end-to-end. You are not afraid of going knee-deep into understanding intricate processes and issues and building corresponding long-term processes and solutions.

  • You are results-oriented, impact-focused and can thrive in a fast-paced and fluid environment. You are comfortable with navigating through ambiguous and quick turn-around situations.

• Data-centric Problem Solving

  • You are confident in processing and analyzing complex data sets using Excel, and can translate results from complex analyses to actionable recommendations

  • You have proficiency in data analytics using Excel, Google Sheet, and tools like (SQL).
