  • GrabInsure also acts as the Grab Group’s center of excellence for insurance matters, including its role for corporate risk management and business enablement.

Get to know the Role:

  • We are looking to grow the team further and are looking for someone with a strong background in the insurance industry with extensive project and stakeholder management experiences.

This role is based out of Singapore and will have three primary responsibilities:

  • acting as a key advisor and analyst for the Grab group’s risk management mitigation using insurance policies;

  • management of Grab’s insurance policies across the region, including placement and insurance structuring strategy;

  • lead or participate in key strategic projects for either the corporate risk management or insurance distribution business as and when they occur. This could involve activities as wide ranging as financial analysis, captive management, regulatory engagement, analytical projects, product design, process design, etc.

The Day-to-Day Activities:

Risk management, insurance placement and structuring strategy:

  • Work closely with key stakeholders across different business units to address risk and insurance requirements with Grab.

  • Manage end-to-end process to place/renew insurance policies for Grab.

  • Provide insurance and claims advisory support across different units.

  • Facilitate underwriting process between business units and insurers/brokers

  • Be adaptable - have the ability to work across a range of initiatives and projects, drawing on resources internally and externally.

  • Driven, self-motivated and detail oriented individual who is able to work independently.

Strategic Projects:

  • Able to work as part of a large collaborative team and also perform independent work

  • Able to liaise and present to senior stakeholders across the insurance business and Grab group - for example, working with product managers, Operations, Risk/Compliance, Procurement/Sourcing, Finance, Marketing.

The Must-Haves:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in any field (preferably in actuarial or business management or finance).

  • Strong knowledge of the insurance industry with minimum 8 years of working experience

  • Driven, self-motivated and adaptable individual who is able to work independently.

  • Demonstrated strong track record in project management, and managing internal/external stakeholders locally and regional.

  • Ability to use and interpret data to make strategic decisions.

The Nice-to-Haves:

  • Prior experiences working in business consulting, insurance underwriting, or agency/brokerage, insurer or reinsurer.

  • Deep understanding of Commercial Insurance Products and Regulations across the different lines of insurance.

  • Experience in more than one South-East Asian market
