The Communications team is responsible for telling the Grab story around the world. Whether it's speaking to media and online influencers, industry commentators, thought leaders or the wider community, the Communications team is the voice of Grab.
Get to know the role:
The Communications team will drive Grab’s growth by promoting and protecting its brand and reputation, ensuring its position as the leading online-to-offline mobile platform in Southeast Asia. This is a unique opportunity to help shape a high‐growth start-up operating in a fast‐paced and dynamic global industry.
You will work with key stakeholders from business, marketing and public affairs teams to develop communications strategies, and execute PR plans to drive business goals. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the media landscape in Singapore and will build and maintain relationships with key media contacts pivotal for the business. Experience with managing crises and issues is advantageous.
Day-to-day responsibilities
Develop comms strategies to position Grab as a Singapore tech leader, and to grow Grab’s core businesses
Create, implement and manage public relations programmes that are in line with company’s vision and business objectives
Proactively promote stories and other publicity opportunities that are advantageous to Grab
Build and maintain strong working relationships with the key media in Singapore
Drive content development, including media materials and other formats of content, to support campaigns and education of stakeholders
Manage the response to incidents, issues or crisis situations, and pre-empt and mitigate potential issues
Build strong working relationships with Grab business stakeholders and management, and drive regular planning and reporting meetings with them
Provide communications counsel and serve as an effective filter for the various business units in helping to determine the credibility, defensibility and news value of Grab messages
Organise and oversee media engagements, speaking opportunities, media training and press office
Analyse metrics to determine the output and value of PR results and use the data as a critical planning tool
Manage the PR agency according to budget and business requirements
Skill-sets we need you to have:
Required: 10 years of experience in PR, media relations, crisis/issues management
Good-to-have: social media, integrated communications experience
A creative and collaborative self-starter who can work independently, and be comfortable in a high-growth, fast-paced and dynamic environment
Experience in tech sector preferred
Excellent command of English (written and spoken)
Hands-on and motivated by challenging work.
