We are looking for talented and organized QAR’s to join our teams! The QAR is responsible for Code compliance and constructability resource for Construction Management and Engineering Groups as well as provide Discipline specific installation support (ie. EEW kits for Electrical, high purity analytical for Process, exhaust test and balance for Mechanical, cleanroom for architectural).

Position Specifics

Qualified to inspect all materials received prior to installation or use to ensure fabrication specifications are met, ensure that installations are performed in accordance with the following:

  • Master Specifications, Standard Installation Details, State and Local Codes UMC, UBC UPC and NFPA, SMACNA Standards, and International Codes, ASME, AWS
  • Interface with OM/PM/CC and Trades on matters affecting the project quality of work and system operation
  • Interface with Contractor supervision on functions and requirements for installations
  • Assist trades in identifying and solving construction problems
  • Perform all necessary inspections and equipment signoff requirements
  • Participate in SOP and perform SIPP and Pre-Task Plan audits for compliance to all requirements
  • Able to resolve technical construction questions and answer discipline specific RFIs.
  • Also includes any discipline specific requirements as listed below.

Education/ Experience

  • Must have experience in similar QAQC type roles for major high tech construction projects/semiconductor facilities
  • Must have journeyman level experience in the specific trade discipline (Electrical, Process, Mechanical, LSS, Architectural-Cleanroom)

Skills

  • Able to communicate with trades (speak language of the trades). Technically skilled to act as the interface between trades, the designers and the tool owners. Need to understand tool drawing set for the corresponding functional area, to solve field contraction issues.
  • Thorough understanding of respective discipline (EL, ME, PI, AR, LSS) to drive trade’s coordination. Understanding of Area Layout. Knowledge of microschedule for prefacilitation, understanding of sequence of construction activities and tool sequence.
  • Able to track hours in the field and to assess earned value. Coordinate prefacilities readiness check lists.
  • Able to resolve technical construction questions in the field.
  • Strong knowledge is required in the following areas; local and national codes; construction drawings/symbols; acceptable industry standard/practices

Mechanical Specific Information

  • Responsible for all aspects of construction pertaining to the installation, testing, and test and balance of all dry mechanical systems including exhaust and supply air systems.
  • Responsible for all aspects of safety compliance specifically for the mechanical contractor, and generally site wide.
  • Serves as the technical content expert relative to mechanical systems fabrication, installation, and testing. Possess a thorough understanding of acceptable industry standards for quality relative to all plastic, metal, Teflon lined stainless steel, and FRP ductwork systems.
  • Responsible for performing, supervising, and tracking all QAQC checklists and leak testing for all tool types.
  • Desired Mechanical Professional Certifications:
    o SMACNA – Sheet Metal And Air Conditioning Contractors’ National Association, Inc.
    o ASHREA – American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Engineers, Inc.

Process Piping Specific Information

  • Possess a thorough understanding of acceptable industry standards for quality relative to all plastic, metal and/or hybrid piping materials likely to be used in microelectronics construction. This candidate will also be responsible for writing, interpreting, and maintaining installation guidelines and situational bulletins and memos with compliance to existing contract guidelines.
  • Content expert in piping construction and be able to deliver a message of expectations such that interpretation is not left to chance.
  • Strong knowledge is required in the following areas:
    o Carbon steel and stainless steel welding and weld characteristics
    o Heat fusion and solvent welding of various plastics
    o All other methods of pipe joining i.e. threaded, compression, face seal, flared fittings, brazing, soldering, etc.
  • ASME B31.3 compliant weld certificate in one or more of the following methods; SMAW, GTAW, GMAW
  • ASME B31.3 compliant weld certificate (automatic orbital welding for high-purity gas systems)
  • Certified by George Fischer on one or more of the following PVDF fusion processes; GF Model IR 63; GF Model IR225
  • Be a qualified PVC/CPVC bonder in accordance with ASME B31.3 (Chapter VII).
  • Be certified by a PVC/CPVC manufacturer in the fabrication of solvent cemented joints, the installation of valves, the assembly of mechanical (threaded) connections, and other piping system components.

Electrical Specific Information

  • Support all customers in driving resolution to design package and panel schedule issues
  • Manage the EEW, COHE and lock out/tag out procedures and sign-off
  • Review Electrical SIPP’s for accuracy of content
  • Instrument & Controls experience, NEC knowledge, specifications knowledge preferred
  • Desired Electrical Professional Certifications
    o ASSE – American Society of Safety Engineers
    o IAEI – International Association of Electrical Inspectors

Architectural/CSA Specific Information
