As a Technical Writer AI Trainer, you’ll play a hands-on role in evaluating, reviewing, and improving AI-generated technical content to help ensure that the next generation of AI technology is accurate, clear, and trustworthy.

We are seeking a large cohort of skilled and experienced Technical Writer AI Trainers to work as project consultants in our AI Labor Marketplace. This is not a full-time employment position — you will be engaged as an expert project consultant on a contract basis.

Location: U.S.-based experts only

Engagement: Part-time, project-based expert evaluation work

Project Summary:

Evaluate AI-generated technical content, compare model responses, provide written feedback, and apply evaluation guidelines to support AI model improvement initiatives. Tasks may include reviewing technical documentation, user guides, procedural content, API documentation, software-related explanations, and other technical communications for accuracy, clarity, structure, and usability.

This is a project-based consultant role. Consultants will be paid on a per-project basis; hourly rates are estimates based on anticipated completion time. Consultants control their own schedule, provide their own tools, and may simultaneously provide services to other vendors/employers (subject to those vendors’ allowances).

Responsibilities:

Contributors will:

• Evaluate AI-generated technical content using defined quality criteria
• Compare multiple AI-generated responses and identify the strongest output
• Provide concise written rationales supporting evaluation decisions
• Review technical documentation for accuracy, clarity, completeness, usability, and adherence to documentation best practices
• Assess content for technical correctness, logical organization, audience appropriateness, and instructional effectiveness
• Apply project guidelines consistently across tasks
• Identify factual inaccuracies, ambiguous language, missing information, and documentation quality issues
• Maintain high standards of quality and attention to detail
• Complete assigned project training and calibration activities

Qualifications

• Must be based in the United States
• Professional experience in Technical Writing, Documentation, Information Development, Content Design, Knowledge Management, or a related field
• Strong written English communication skills
• Excellent analytical and critical-thinking abilities
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
• Experience creating, reviewing, or editing technical documentation for technical and non-technical audiences
• Familiarity with documentation standards, style guides, and content quality best practices
• Comfort evaluating written content and documenting decisions
• Experience in AI training, data annotation, content review, quality assurance, research, or related fields is preferred but not required
• Familiarity with generative AI tools is a plus
