Job Description

“Art directors don’t need to read copy.”

We’re looking for an Art-based Creative Lead who takes pride in their ability to combine strategic thinking and excellent crafting to solve real business problems. Maybe even win some awards. This Creative Lead will work directly with the SG Creative Director and lead the team in creating good work that works. This Creative Lead would have relentless optimism. Would believe that good enough is not good enough. And would already be thinking of 10 different ways to make this recruitment ad better.

  • We’re responsible for building the Grab brand and maintaining its integrity across the region.
  • Our mission is to build brand love in everything we do and create memorable experiences for our users through purposeful creative work.

What a Creative Lead’s day-to-day will look like:

  • You will be responsible for setting and pushing the standards of the Creative department, ensuring that only the highest quality of visuals that are on brand leave the door.
  • As Grab is an ambitious, fast-paced company, you will be managing multiple projects at any given time and working with the Creative Producers to ensure the team is productive, motivated, and delivering work that meets your high standards.
  • You will be working and aligning with Marketing to develop strategies, tactics, and ideas that build the brand and meet the objectives.
  • You will be leading the design and development of effective communications and brand campaigns, which include digital creative work such as online display ads and in-app comms as well as customer experience design.
  • You will be providing guidance and leadership for the juniors, together with the senior Creatives in the SG Creative team.
  • You will be reporting directly to the SG Creative Director.


The must-haves:

  • 8-10 years of agency experience, where you have led and executed large integrated campaigns (including digital marketing).
  • A portfolio that showcases your excellent visual design and conceptualisation skills.
  • A keen eye for aesthetics and a good understanding of visual design.
  • Formal design training in art or other design disciplines, plus basic knowledge of copywriting.
  • The ability to explain, sell, and defend your art direction choices in an objective way.
  • Strong communication skills in managing stakeholders from all levels.
  • Some experience in managing a team of art directors and copywriters.
  • Experience in managing workflow for the development of multiple creative assets.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, especially Illustrator, and Photoshop.
  • (Nice to have) An interest in AI and automation.
