The Comms product team empowers and provides delightful communication experiences for our consumers and partners.

The scope of our team is wide. We handle everything from ensuring our underlying comms delivery systems are stable and reliable, the internal tools for marketing & ops to craft campaigns, the ML optimization layers of who should receive what/when/etc., and Interactive Communications. It’s a large and exciting scope that touches every part of Grab across every vertical, user type, partner, and market we operate in.

As a Platform team, we work horizontally across all functions to anticipate the future needs of Grab’s ecosystem of services and partners. We also push for scalability and reusability to ensure our consumers and partners have a consistent and delightful experience.


Get to know the Role
As a Lead Product Manager on the Comms team, you will own and drive the product vision for the Interactive Communications problem space. Historically, our efforts have focused on providing a reliable and cost-efficient medium for consumers and partners to communicate and interact during transactions (think GrabChat and VoIP for rides and food deliveries).

The base Chat & Voice product has not seen many iterations over the past few years, but we are starting to invest more into building additional mediums of interaction and intelligently steering our users to the most optimal channel depending on their context and use case. We also believe that the underlying Chat platform could be part of the glue that tie together any kind of social and community experience within Grab, and we are looking to go deeper on this later this year.

You will be an individual contributor with a large scope of responsibility from shaping the vision and strategy, to influencing cross-organizational stakeholders and building alliances with teams to support the execution of our vision.

The Day-to-Day Activities:

Product Vision and Strategy:

  • Develop and drive the product vision and strategy for Chat & Voice, aligning it with the overall product vision and business objectives.
  • Create a roadmap that prioritizes and optimally sequences product features to enhance the reliability and user experience of our Voice offering.
  • Propose and explore new features and technologies to maintain a competitive edge and continually improve the value proposition of our platform.

Data-Driven Decisions:

  • Leverage data analytics and insights to understand user behavior, gaps in current experience, and discover areas where Chat & Voice can enhance the experience for our consumers and partners
  • Use data to make informed decisions, optimize existing features, troubleshoot edge cases, and guide the development of new platform capabilities that enable functional teams to achieve their objectives

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Lead a problem space team together with cross-functional leaders from engineering, design, analytics, and business.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing within the team and across the organization.
  • Effectively communicate product updates, roadmap, and performance to stakeholders and leadership, addressing their concerns and incorporating feedback into product iterations.
  • Establish strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, representing the voice of the product and fostering collaboration for mutual success.

Qualifications

The must haves

  • At least 4 years experience in Product Management, ideally in roles focusing on communications, messaging or social experiences in the tech industry.
  • Exceptional communication skills in English.
  • Proven success in defining and implementing successful product strategies and roadmaps.
  • Demonstrated success in creating and managing products through:
    • employment of design thinking in synthesizing requirements,
    • inclusion of customer-centricity into every stage of the product life cycle,
    • leading by influence of a large, culturally diverse, and distributed team,
    • making data-driven decisions across the product lifecycle
    • demonstrated success in managing products from concept to retirement.
  • Exceptional analytical and strategic thinking abilities, complemented by strong project management skills.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with a proactive and collaborative approach.
  • Passion for creating outstanding and delightful user experiences
