Get to Know the Role
Reporting to the Service Management Practice (SMP) Manager, this role will lead the Configuration Management practice for GTS. You will be responsible for building and improving this practice and operating model.
The Day-to-Day Activities:
The candidate we are looking for is someone with a strong background in infrastructure and application Configuration Management best practices and standards in heavily regulated industries.
You will be responsible for defining and enforcing standards and guidelines for Configuration, Hardware & Software Asset Management, ensuring compliance with the best practices and regulatory requirements.

Maintain data quality, integrity, and security of CMDB or similar repository to store and manage configuration items.
Coordinate with stakeholders, including IT teams, procurement, and finance to track software licenses, maintenance agreements, warranties and service contracts.
Conduct regular assessments of software compliance and work with vendors to resolve any discrepancies or non-compliance issues.
Work closely with GTS leaders, technical teams, operations teams and project managers to plan, populate, and update CMDB.
Gatekeep and document all entry and exit governance criteria on every Configuration Item (CI) and ensure adequate due diligence is undertaken
Evaluate changes based on the quality of information provided in Change Requests in relation to the CIs.
Assist in major incident resolution for CMS-related issues and work on problem management until closure.
Publish regular HAM, SAM and Configuration Management reports to stakeholders
Qualifications
The Must-Haves
10+ years experience in the IT industry, of which 3+ years focusing in configuration management.
Strong understanding of IT asset and configuration management or related roles.
Proficiency in configuration management database (CMDB) tools and technologies.
Strong knowledge of IT service management (ITIL) and related processes including service strategy, design, transition and processes.
Working knowledge of COBIT domains or related standards.
Experience in managing communications with management & cross-functional teams.
Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking and applying sound project management to assigned work.
ITIL Foundation (v4) certified.
The Nice-to-Haves
IT service desk experience
Hands-on experience with RemedyForce CMDB, ServiceNow
ITIL certification: o Service Transition (v3), or, o Operational Support and Analysis - OSA (v3)
COBIT 5 Foundation
CHAMP or CSAM
