Get to know the role:
Manage a portfolio of key food & beverage merchant relationships with a focus on building lasting relationships, improving platform growth and profitability and driving cross-vertical synergies across Grab. You will lead elements of business identification, partnerships, account management, and execution strategy. You will be reporting to the Key Account Management Manager, GrabFood Malaysia.
The day-to-day activities:
Manage a large portfolio of restaurants with a focus on retention - building strong, trusting relationships and ensuring merchant satisfaction
Develop and implement strategic plans to manage and increase profitability of merchant portfolio
Following up on leads and winning (converting) new merchants into the Signature program
Analyze data to understand merchant needs and identify new business opportunities for portfolio
Liaise with merchants for merchants funded promo program, merchant commission scheme, new products/features, cross vertical synergies, ticket resolution and track all processes
Identify bottlenecks and potential issues related to merchant operations and the content management process, and deliver solutions to these issues
Evaluate strategic and partnership opportunities, performing a broad range of quantitative and qualitative analyses
Develop and maintain excellent knowledge of the business, offerings, competitors and industry
Work across functions to tailor merchant specific needs (e.g. customized reporting, marketing support, integrations)
Deliver business improvement projects to create value for both merchants and Grab - by collaborating (and leading) peers to ensure project requirements, deadline/schedules are met
Drive operational excellence by working with the commercial, merchants and operations teams
Support the commercial and engineering team to fill merchant orientated product gaps, determine go-to-market strategies and act as a evangelist within the team to drive awareness
The must haves:
Bachelor (or above) degree in Business/ Management or equivalent
Minimum 2-3 years experience in account management, business development, partnerships or equivalent role
Experience in managing large account portfolios/branded key account from FMCG, F&B, Corporate or Retail industry is a plus
Excellent written and spoken communication skills in both English and Bahasa Malaysia. Ability to speak in other dialects such as Mandarin is an added advantage.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to identify and provide comprehensive solutions for varying merchant needs with strong insights and analysis
Ability to fuse business, strategy, finance and legal concepts to lead complex, multi-faceted deals
Demonstrated ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations
Have a competitive edge and thrive in a team environment
Strong project management, organized and able to prioritize
A self-starter who is able to work efficiently under pressure and problem solve
Energetic, enthusiastic and calm even in a dynamic and fast paced environment
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, Word and other relevant softwares i.e. Salesforce, Power BI (programming proficiency i.e. SQL is a plus)
