GrabDefence is a new team in the Integrity Group, building Grab’s first B2B enterprise technology business. Through GrabDefence, we are opening up our fraud detection and prevention technology to our partners to help them battle fraud and fortify trust in the digital ecosystem.

GrabDefence is Grab’s own Fraud detection and prevention technology platform for companies that want to protect themselves from fraudsters and fraudulent transactions. Drawing from Grab’s own experience operating in various verticals across the region and battling various fraud attempts, GrabDefence seeks to help companies build Trust in their platforms. GrabDefence is introducing new product lines such as AML, Chargeback protection, and eKYC solutions to its product portfolio, and all of these cutting-edge solutions based on AI will be launched this year, providing the applicant with a tremendous learning and growth opportunity.

Get to know the Role

• Design, implement & manage web apps and backend services that impact millions of users

• Experience a shipping culture that uses the state of the art web technologies

• Grow in an environment passionate about knowledge-sharing and code review

• Learn software engineering practices for coding at scale: static analysis, feature flags, instrumentation, and more

The Day-to-Day Activities

• Design and implement RESTful APIs

• Build and deploy performant modern web applications in React, Redux, Webpack, and ES6

• Architect efficient and scalable backend systems

• Write unit, functional and end-to-end tests

• Write high-quality code (Go) that communicates with upstream backend services via HTTP APIs

• Identify and resolve performance and scalability issues

• Participate in code and design reviews

The Must-Haves

• Good Computer Science fundamentals in algorithms and data structures

• Experience shipping products(like web applications or backend services, or etc) to production

• Proficient with at least one language commonly used for backend services development (C++, C, C#, Java etc.), but willing to work on Golang. Proficiency in Golang will be a strong advantage.

• Familiar with HTTP protocol

• Willing to learn new technologies

• Good English Communication

The Nice-to-Haves

• Experience in developing and maintaining large scale micro-services

• Proficient understanding of the HTTP protocol

• Experience with ES6/ES2015 or ES7/ES2016

• Experience with React, Redux

• Experience with noSQL database such as DynamoDB, MongoDB, etc

• Knowledge of cloud technologies and experience with developing and deploying services on the cloud

• Be a quick learner

• Experience with Fraud detection
